You’ve been in the gym for alittle over a month, you’ve been real consistent, and you can feel yourself changing. You got one month under your belt, and ready to step it up in the gym… but after another month in the gym, you realize nothing has changed, your workouts are boring, and your workouts aren’t as hard as they use to be. Ever wonder why that happens? It’s because you haven’t switched your workouts up, you let your body adapt to your your routines, and you’re not pushing yourself like the first 6 weeks in the gym. See, your body needs a change of pace in order to continue to grow and develop the way you want it to, and in order to do that you need to switch it up, confuse your body, or change your workouts juuuuust alittle.
Most people that hit the gym usually already have their exercises and routines in mind, and if you’re good at planning then you’ve pretty much had your workouts planned out before you even made it to the gym. But, most people don’t change their workouts over time, they just stick to the same ol’ things day in and day out. Yes, when you first started doing your squats it was hard as hell, your thighs were burning, and you were toning up, but after a couple of weeks of doing the same squats with the same weights your thighs aren’t changing at all and your muscles are looking at you like “WTF”.
Your muscles get accustomed to a certain workload over a certain time, and once that happens your muscles look at the exercise as just another day at the office, it’s not being stressed anymore and isn’t growing. What you must do is change it up. Either add more weight, add less weight and add more sets or reps, even don’t do squats at all and try lunges now, or combine the both. There’s so many ways you can do it, it just takes the 5 minutes out of your day to actually go through with it. Starting off with certain exercises, before you know it you’ll be changing your whole routine, which in my opinion is a good way to keep things interesting. Try new exercises, try less days, try more days, go back to the basic exercises that you skipped all these years, try anything different as long as you stick to your goals and stay focused everything else will fall into place.
Once you’ve switched it up, you’ll notice your body will react different, your might feel alittle soreness over time, your body might become smaller/bigger, however you do it there WILL be a change to what you’re looking for. I mean, there is a reason why there’s 100000000 different exercises people do. Yes, they may work the same muscle groups, but they do it in different forms and fashions that stimulate different smaller muscles to help the bigger muscles. So with ALL this being say, switch your shit up, don’t be stuck in the same exercise routine you’ve been doing for 3 months now and wondering why your body STILL looks the same, it’s because you’ve been doing the same thing, dummy…
